The definition of a Gucci Kroger is as follows:
A Kroger establishment that is extremely nice in that along with the services of a normal Kroger store, the Gucci Kroger also contains a variety salad bars, a Starbucks, and in some cases a sushi bar.
Sound interesting? Well, there is one of these magical Kroger’s on Route 60! Now I’m normally pretty loyal to the Kroger on 5th Ave right by campus, but every now and then I will venture a little further down the road to the Gucci Kroger. It has all kinds of cool stuff, like a Mediterranean bar
A pretty sweet salad bar
And a sushi bar, that’s right you heard me…SUSHI.
During the week, there is normally a guy behind the counter making the sushi fresh, but I stopped by in the evening this time when he wasn’t there (he’s really nice, by the way)! All of the sushi is made fresh and extremely delicious, just like if you were to go somewhere like a Hibachi steakhouse. There is everything from your basic Tuna Roll all the way to a Dragon or a Texas Roll. I’ve gotten my sushi from here on numerous occasions and have yet to be disappointed. In each container you’ll get 12 pieces of sushi for around $8.00, it just depends on what type of roll you choose.
The day that I went I decided to go with a Hawaiian Roll, it is de-licious!
Look at all of that sushi goodness! Now, I know for this Food Friday I didn’t necessarily talk about a specific restaurant in Huntington, but this little sushi bar serves as a great food find for anyone, especially if you want sushi but don’t feel like going out to eat to get it. My next goal is to learn how to make sushi…which might take awhile, but I’ll let you guys know when I master it!
Do you shop at the Gucci Kroger? What types of things do you like to buy?

I love the Gucci Kroger!!! If you have not been there, you should go because there is a lot more variety when it comes to eating healthy. Plus the seafood, chicken, fruits, vegatables, organic and natural food sections are a lot bigger than regular krogers here in Huntington. I have not been there in a while but i need to go back to try that sushi.

You should see the Kroger in Morgantown – it’s much more Gucci!
