One of the more difficult aspects of being healthy is maintaining fresh fruits, veggies, meats, and dairy products. The other day, one of my friends sent me a link to the inspiration to today’s blog (holla atchya girl- JR.). She has been doing a great job at being healthy, however she’s been running into the same hang up that most of us face…we want to eat fresh, healthy food, and we want to buy a lot to avoid spending every other day at the grocery store…but we can’t eat all of the food before it goes bad, thus by buying more than we can eat, we are wasting the food we are spending our hard earned money on! A HEALTH FANATIC’S PARADOX!
Well I say paradox, shmaradox (sure, that’s a word), the solution to this problem lies all in the online freezer guru StillTasty.com. The website has EVERYTHING you need to know about what you can freeze and how long you can freeze it for. One penny-pinching tip that I use is that I buy in bulk and freeze as much as possible. Between my roommate and myself, our freezer is full! I freeze everything from fish and chicken to bananas (frozen bananas for smoothies are the bomb.com). And then of course I use the freezer to save all of the crockpot creations that I have posted thus far.
So check out the website and get more bang for your buck! Is this website helpful? What do you guys like to freeze?

I always like to buy fresh produce but it gets expensive. I’ve made it a habit to buy 2 things fresh, both fruit and veggies, then 1 or 2 cheaper frozen items. Eventually you build up a good stock pile without breaking the bank.
